PANDIT KUMAR BOSE, the legendary tabla maestro was born in family enriched with tunes and rhythm in Kolkata. His father, PANDIT BISWANATH BOSE, a distinguished Tabla Nawaz, taught him to play the first beats of rhythm.His mother SMT.BHARATI  BOSE, an eminent sitarist and disciple of the great USTAAD DAABIR KHAN and USTAAD ALI AKBAR KHAN guided him with the basic forms of classical music and helped him to groom himself as a professional Tabla Player. Later he was blessed with the lessons, morals and cultures of the legendary Tabla Maestro PANDIT KISHAN MAHARAJ JI  of the Benaras Gharana and proved himself the most competent disciple of Maharaj ji. After PANDIT KISHEN MAHARAJ JI, PANDIT BOSE  has promoted BENARAS GHARANA  of TABLA all over the world most consistently.

PANDIT KUMAR BOSE is considered to be a genius as he has been always very much conscious of his own style which is completely different and composed in a particular style by diluting the sanctity of tradition with the psychological demand of the listeners. It has been noticed that PANDIT KUMAR BOSE's compositions are always very close to the listener's heart. His innovations are all about merging rhythm with the tune of life. He consciously maintained the features of Benaras Gharana while performing on stage and also put himself in a different mould while he created other contemporary forms of percussion. His omnipotent personality attracts the audience and creates a lifelong impact in their heart and soul. A perfectionist by nature PANDIT KUMAR BOSE  revealed himself as a "BNAYAN"  (Bass Drums) player in his early age but later he dedicated his soul to Indian Classical Music and created one after one stunning  compositions with his magical hands.
